The location will be the modern business-convention facilities of Ironstone Vineyards. We intend to make the event attractive to daffodil enthusiasts across the world. Our goal is to serve as a bridge between the World Conventions of 2008, hosted by the UK and Holland and the 2012 World Convention to be hosted by New Zealand. We feel that four years seems too long between gatherings of international friends.

A public reception for the participating artists who are from the high schools of Bret Harte, Calaveras, and Mountain Oaks, will be held on March 13 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.in the gallery located at 22 Main, San Andreas, operated by the Calaveras Arts Council. Starting at 2:00 pm results of the judging will be announced.

Participants are issued a commemorative glass and a “Passport” that is stamped at each of the wineries visited on any of the four Passport Days weekends, and if completed, entered in drawings for some fun prizes.
All participants must be 21 years or older, designated drivers are encouraged and receive free non-alcoholic beverages.
The unique event offers an ideal way for new area visitors to become familiar with Calaveras County wineries as each winery showcases their unique personalities and award winning wines.

Participants will receive a parking

Learn how to identify the floral communities of Natural Bridges. This is a moderate-to-strenuous downhill hike, 1.5 miles roundtrip. Participants may return uphill on their own. Meet at the Natural Bridges trailhead on Parrott’s Ferry Road at 10 a.m. Alternatively, participants are welcome to meet the ranger at the New Melones Lake Visitor Center and Museum at 6850 Studhorse Flat Road (left turn off of Hwy 49 at south end of Stevenot Bridge) at 9:00 a.m. and follow the caravan. We will leave promptly at 9:00 a.m. No dogs are allowed on the trail to Natural Bridges.

This hilarious collection of snippets from a famous commencement speech assisted by Mark Wilson and directed by Terri Wilson.
The Follies begins at 6 p.m. in Mark Twain Hall and consists of more than 20 outrageous acts by well-known community members who are volunteering their time for the Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program. Included in the evening festivities are draped tables of gourmet appetizers, no-host bar, and a lively raffle of donated items showcased in gift baskets valued at more than $500 each.

INSTRUCTIONS: Meet at the Peoria Wildlife Equestrian Staging Area on Peoria Flat Road at 10:00 a.m.
Alternatively, participants are welcome to meet the ranger at the New Melones Lake Visitor Center and
Museum at 9:00 a.m. and follow the caravan. Hikes are weather permitting and free of charge.

Taste the World of Calaveras will take place on Friday, June 25, 2010 at Murphys Community Park. From 6:00pm to 8:30pm, attendees will have the opportunity to taste wines made from grapes with origins from five different regions of the world, and each region will showcase corresponding cuisine.
Participants are issued a commemorative glass and a “Passport” that is stamped at each of the wineries visited on any of the four Passport Days weekends, and if completed, entered in drawings for some fun prizes.
All participants must be 21 years or older, designated drivers are encouraged and receive free non-alcoholic beverages.
The unique event offers an ideal way for new area visitors to become familiar with Calaveras County wineries as each winery showcases their unique personalities and award winning wines.

Dozens of “en plein air” paintings created over the past year at Milfiori in Douglas Flat will be exhibited and offered for sale. Award winning local artists including Kathleen Dunphy, Shona Macomber, Charles Waldman and Janette Jones, have painted the seasons of Milfiori, a lovely 150 year old farmhouse surrounded by decades old gardens. The property also includes the first well and the Italian Store which were the hub of the Douglas Flat mining community.

The Calaveras Follies is an outrageously hilarious musical review starring local community celebrities imitating well-known artists lip synching popular show tunes and songs. It is a fundraising event for the Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program.
