Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee May 14-18, 2008 You don't want to miss this fun and historic event that highlights Calaveras County's rich history. Enjoy the Frog Jump International Competition, carnival rides, livestock, big name entertainment and much more! Calaveras Grape Stomp Every year on the first Saturday in October you will find a crowd gathered to watch and take part in the Annual Grape Stomp. The event celebrates harvest and the rich wine industry of Calaveras County. Come and stomp a few pounds of grapes or simply be a spectator at this fun and crazy event! Along with the event, the Gold Rush Street Faire takes place with over a hundred vendors for you to peruse. Camp Connell Summer Music Series A high-country favorite of locals and visitors. Live bands play in our outdoor venue on San Antonio Creek. Lawn and patio seating, plus large dance floor. Food and beverages available. Family fun! Celtic Faire & Jousting Festivals March 8-9, 2008 California's oldest, largest Celtic Festival. Irish, Scottish, Welsh and Cornish cultures together for one weekend in March every year. Top name entertainment, Highland Games, jousting, food and fun. Jousting event in September. Concours d'Elegance-September 27, 2008 Don’t miss this elegant car show featuring over 300 cars. The world class event benefits local 4H programs, FFA programs, The California State Fair Scholarships and the Calaveras County Fair Scholarships. Open from 10 am to 4 pm, admittance is only $20 per person and free for ages 19 and under. Gold Rush Street Faire-October 4, 2008 Shopping is to "live for" at the Annual Gold Rush Street Faire, as Main Street fills with over 100 booths of quality arts and crafts, antiques, handcrafted goods, jewelry, clothing, collectibles, and food booths, in addition to Murphys' multitude of one-of-a-kind specialty shops. The event is hosted by the Feeney Park Foundation, and has been a valued tradition in Murphys for many years. Lumberjack Days The Annual Lumberjack Days parade and festival celebrates the lumber history of Calaveras County. It takes place in downtown West Point on the first Saturday of October. Complete with vendors, lumberjack competitions, a parade and car show, this event is fun for the whole family! Murphys Irish Day March 15, 2008 Celebrates Murphys' Irish heritage and beckons visitors and locals alike on the Saturday of St. Patty's with Irish musicians and dancers, authentic Irish fare and wares, carriage rides, crafts booths, dancing in the streets, and storytelling. |
