As we head into the big end-of-summer weekend, the Calaveras County calendar of events is chock full of fun things to do and it can be a little hard to choose. So we decided to round up a few ideas, based on where in the county you find yourself this Labor Day weekend. Read on for our picks of what to do where.

Labor Day Weekend in Mokelumne Hill

COMEDY NIGHT

Labor Day Weekend in San Andreas

FOUNDERS DAY & RUMBLE
Saturday, Sept. 3 | 9:00 am – 5:00 pm | 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas
Classic Car Festival. The day will begin with The Rumble held at the Calaveras Government Center from 9:00 – 1:00. Followed by Founder’s Day on Historic Main Street from 1:00 – 5:00. For more information, including entering your classic car, call 209.754.0127.

COPPER TOWN SQUARE CONCERT SERIES
Saturday, Sept. 3 | 7:00pm | Copper Town Square 
Local singer songwriter Grover Anderson takes the stage, followed by Johnny Cash tribute act James Garner. Admission is free with lawn seating, feel free to bring your own chair.

Labor Day Weekend in Murphys

IRONSTONE CONCERT SERIES
Sunday, Sept. 4 | Dinner from 5:30 pm | Concert at 7:30 pm | Ironstone Vineyards

FIRST FRIDAYS IN THE PARK

The final First Friday concert of the season features Plan B, covering a mixture of classic rock hits. Admission is free as always, dinner will be catered by Pipin’ Hot BBQ for $12, and local wines available

INAUGURAL PRIDE IN THE PARK
Saturday, Sept. 3 | 10:00 am – 8:00 pm | Murphys Community Park
Free for all ages. Hosted by the Tri-County LGBT Alliance servicing Calaveras, Alpine, Amador, and Tuolumne counties, they invite all friends, family, community allies, and LGBT members to Murphys community park. Dressing in bright colors to show your support for the LGBT Community is encouraged. Festivities include a DJ and live music throughout the event as well as guest speakers, informational booths, other LGBTQ organizations, a photo booth, beer and wine (provided by a local charitable organization), local food vendors, a scavenger hunt, silent auction, games, and more!

HILLTOP CONCERT SERIES
Saturday, Sept. 3 | 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm | Brice Station Vineyards
Edge of the West is a rock and roots jam band that plays fun danceable music with a lot of heart. Admission to the show is $15.

WINE TASTING & MUSIC
Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Sept. 2 – 4 | Various wineries – Check calendar for details

Labor Day Weekend in Arnold & White Pines

SIERRA NEVADA LOGGING JAMBOREE
Saturday, Sept. 3 |  9:00 am – 5:00 pm | Sierra Nevada Logging Museum
Catch the action outside with logging competitions including axe throwing, choke setting and hot sawing, then step inside the museum for spectacular displays of the region’s rich timber industry. Children under 12 are free; Adults, $8 each or $15 for two adults.

44th ANNUAL LABOR DAY ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVAL
Saturday & Sunday, Sept. 3-4 | 10:00 am – 5:00 pm | Next to Bristol’s Ranch House Café
Arnold’s popular end-of-summer celebration features 55 booths of original art & crafts in all media. Live music, food and beverage vendors – including local beers served by the Ebbetts Pass Fire Department, games and activities for the whole family. Free admission and parking.
