There are many reasons to love Twisted Oak Winery  – not least of which is the Rubber Chicken National Forest – a spoof national forest comprising ridiculous and hilarious signage and occasional sightings of rubber chickens, along a gravel road leading to the vineyard tasting room. A second, shorter, paved route which takes itself far more seriously, is your other choice.

Twisted’s award-winning, Calaveras style big bold reds and refreshing whites include labels that beg to be read. We won’t spoil the fun here. You’ll have to see for yourself. Their tasting room specializes in wine, skull and rubber chicken themed gag gifts (skulls for their River of Skulls wine) inspired by Calaveras, which is Spanish for skulls.

Twisted has won “Best of 209” two years in a row. Twisted Oak has been recognized by the Best of 209 voters with GOLD for Winery.

Twisted Folk Concert | Maria Camillo

The wine is outstanding and so is the entertainment. Owners Jeff and Mary Stai always put together an annual line up for their Twisted Folk Concert Series featuring  everything from Grammy Award winning to top-notch up and coming folk, jazz, bluegrass, zydeco, and country artists. The music is always more than you expected, and the venue, superlative. The open air amphitheater overlooks rolling foothills as sunset descends and there’s always delicious food and Twisted wines to purchase. View the 2018 Twisted Folk line-up schedule or purchase tickets here. These shows are popular, so try to carpool if you can.
