Salt Spring Valley Reservoir is a local, family-friendly, secret fishing and boating spot of 1000 acres. Off the beaten path, near Copperopolis, you’ll drive just over 15 minutes off the highway to get there. Fishing here yields crappie, red ear perch, bluegill and catfish. They also stock Florida strain large mouth bass for catch and release – no live bait is allowed to maintain the health of the fish. Check out their website for regular bass tournaments. Dogs are welcome for an additional fee.
CampgroudsThere are 80 acres of
campground available on a first-come, first-served basis. You will find plenty of wood around to make a campfire and there’s also group camping available. RV spots are available. They also have a dump station, restrooms and showers and a fishing pond. Sports equipment rental is also available at the Coyote Creek Country Store – located on the grounds. Boating on the lake
Watercraft allowed include fishing boats, canoes, kayaks and jet skis, but no waterskiing is allowed.
