Did you know Mark Twain got his literary start in California? –In Angels Camp, California to be exact! The Mark Twain Wild West Fest is a free, full day of entertainment with historical re-enactors, live music, wild west gun shows/activities, storytelling, and fun family-friendly activities. Celebrating Angels Camp’s Mark Twain connection as well as life in the Wild West, this is one memorable annual event. 41st Annual Mountain Heirloom Quilt Faire – Ironstone Vineyards, Murphys, CA

Calling all crafters! Featuring wine tasting, scholarship raffles, handmade treasures, vendors selling fabrics, fashionable and decorative items, food for purchase, free parking, and additional fun, the crafters and quilt lovers in your life won’t want to miss this great annual 3 day event. Brought to you by Ironstone Vineyards and the Independence Hall Quilters, this fabulous annual event will keep you inspired all year long.

Throughout the weekend you have access to view and purchase locally made quilts, dolls, needle art, wall hangings, and wearable art alike. You will also have a chance to view the 2018 member challenge quilt and wall hangings as well as the beloved  Independence Hall Quilters Bicentennial Quilt, which started it all. Each $8.00 admission fee is  good for the entire weekend, and all proceeds go towards a private scholarship fund for Bret Harte High School seniors.

Murphys Day of the Dead, or Dia de Los Muertos is a heartwarming celebration of those we’ve lost. We honor this festival’s Mexican roots with traditional music, dancing, ofrendas, Catrina and Catrin costumes and community spirit. Join us for the celebration in Murphys Community Park and in downtown Murphys Main Street featuring fabulously colorful artisan vendors, traditional food and drinks, face painters, Folklorica dancers, Rondalla musicians, and more.
