You can literally do wine country on foot in Calaveras. There are over two dozen wineries here and most of them have tasting rooms within walking distance from one another along Murphys' charming, historic Main Street.

Part of the Sierra Foothills appellation, the Calaveras wine industry is developing a reputation for high quality innovation, specializing in big zins, Italian, Spanish and Rhone varietals. Download a PDF of our current award winners, or use an interactive online version. Also get your guide to the varietals produced at each winery from the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance (CWA). Stop at any CWA member winery's tasting room or stop by the Calaveras Visitors Center and pick up your free Tasting Notebook, so you can keep track of the Calaveras wines you love.
