Optical Astronomy Nights

The first astronomy night program of the year will be an Optical Astronomy Night! Join us at the scenic overlook on May 5th at 8pm. You bring a chair and a blanket, we’ll bring the telescopes, and together we’ll explore the night sky! Can’t make it to that one? No problem! We’ll be hosting a total of eleven Optical Astronomy Nights throughout the summer, so there should be plenty of opportunities to make it to another one.

But that’s not all! Starting in June, we’ll also be hosting Night Skies with Doc Nancy! Meet at the scenic overlook for an evening under the stars when science, myths, and stories will bring the night sky down to you! There are only five of these programs scheduled for this summer, but they’re well worth it, so make sure you don’t miss out!

For all of our astronomy night programs, we recommend you come early, dress warmly, and bring a chair or ground blanket to sit on. An entrance fee of $10 per vehicle is required to attend these programs. Parking can fill up quickly, so we ask that you arrive early, drive carefully, and be patient as you come and go; please keep an eye out for pedestrians and wildlife that may be on the road in the dark.
