The Sierra Nevada Arts & Crafts Festival starts with a classic, small-town parade with vintage cars, local businesses, emergency services, schools and civic organizations represented.
The parade starts10:00 am on the Saturday (in 2019, July 6th) of July 4th weekend, at the east end of town on Highway 4 and ends at Cedar Center, with a beautiful, live rendition of American The Beautiful. If you’re in the area when it’s happening be sure to check out this rural favorite. And get there early to find your perfect spot. The parade route which is the Arnold stretch of Highway 4 is closed by 9:00 am.
The whole community gets involved, and Highway 4 is lined with locals and visitors alike, enjoying this timeless, traditional parade in keeping with the best of American small town celebrations.
The festivities continue with the Sierra Nevada Arts & Crafts Festival in the grounds at Bristol’s Ranch House Café at 961 Highway 4, Arnold CA – a tradition that has been an important part of Arnold’s 4th July celebrations for over 45 years. This part of the event features fine crafts, fine art, gourmet foods, and continuous live entertainment.
Situated among the pines and redwoods at the 4000-ft elevation, the festival features over 50 booths of original crafts & art in all media – exhibited by the artists, featuring woodwork, metal sculpture, yard art, pottery, jewelry, quilts, soaps & spa essentials, fine art, clothing, scarves, dolls, birdhouses/feeders, fused glass plates & wind chimes, hand-painted furniture, photography, kid’s toys, hats, purses, succulents, leather and more, Sample gourmet foods and face painting for the kids – and kids at heart.
The Arnold Lion’s Club serves an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7:30 am – 11:00 am both days for just $8.
During the festival, the Ebbetts Pass Volunteer Fire Department serves local Calaveras County beers, and a variety of home-made food booths Kettlecorn and baked goodies round out the deliciousness. After the festival, they hold their annual BBQ with live music on Saturday evening – making for a full day of fun!
