Go Calaveras! E-news August 2010

There is still lots of time left and fun things to do to enjoy summer in Calaveras County! Ironstone Vineyards is rounding out their Summer Concert Series with  performances by Willie Nelson and special Guest LeAnn Rimes on Sunday, September 12th.  Performing the final concert for the season is Sheryl Crow on September 17th.  Get your accomodations today!

As always there are so many great events taking place in Calaveras County!  October brings two new events to the area: 

Bear Valley –  October 9th and 10th it’s the Tough Mudder – the TOUGHEST one day event on the planet!  This 7-mile obstacle course is designed by British Special Forces to test all around toughness, strength, stamina, fitness, camaraderie and mental grit!  Check it out and if you think you’ve got what it takes, sign up today!

Angels Camp – October 15th-17th it’s the Mark Twain Motherlode Festival.  This three-day event will celebrate the life of Mark Twain and his contributions to the Motherlode.  The festival kicks off with a University of Missouri Drama Department’s debut performance of Ron Powers’ new play about Samuel Clemens, “Sam and Laura.”  Festivities will continue throughout the weekend.  Call 209-736-1507 for additional information.
