“Hotel Impossible” comes to Calaveras County

Posted : September 4, 2012

The Historic Hotel Leger in Mokelumne Hill is excited to announce that we have been selected to host a TV crew from The Travel Channel, who will be filming an episode of “Hotel Impossible” about our Hotel during the week of September 13-18th.

Ashley Canty, owner of the Hotel Leger since 2002, has been in meetings with designers and producers of the hit TV show for a few weeks and has just received final confirmation that it’s a “go!” The production crew and county representatives will be here to film and coordinate improvements to the locally beloved hotel. We have been assured and asked for names and numbers so that only local contractors and service providers will be utilized. The Historic Hotel, Bar and Restaurant and the town of Mokelumne Hill will receive a much appreciated boost, as will the entire Calaveras County area.

As part of our community preparation for this exciting event, we are hosting a Town Hall meeting to discuss how to welcome and prepare for the Travel Channel crew. We are issuing a “Call for Volunteers” to participate on an as-needed basis while the production/filming is taking place. More information about how to help will be discussed during the Town Hall meeting scheduled for Wednesday, September 5th at 5:15pm in the Banquet Room of the Hotel Leger. Please join us at that time to find out how to welcome the Travel Channel film crew when they arrive and to show your support for the Historic Hotel Leger.

  1. Awesome!

  2. I always like to see people at their best, and going the xtra mile, just like the Olympics, brings out the best. I usually DVR it…and I like to see the RESULTS of Anthony’s visits, and darn, the thing cuts off just as these results are given…by careful remoting I was able to get the Legere Hotel in Calaveras county occupancy was up 20%…earlier episodes gave all the info…anyhow, it’s a fun watch, and Blanch Garcia always seems to be the “Scotty” of the Hotel TREK beaming Anthony’s jobs up just in time. Good luck, and I’ll continue watching.

  3. Well, that almost worked out…I have learned that the Leger is now for sale, asking $960,000…hey I don’t blame her…now turn it over to a pro, and watch the $$$ flow. Is this a great Country or what ?

  4. Hotel Impossible is returning to The Historic Hotel Leger in Mokelumne Hill!

On Wednesday, October 16, 2013, Anthony and the Hotel Impossible crew will return to film a segment for their revisit episode that will air early in the next (2014) season).

As you may or may not know, the Hotel is now under new owners, so the segment will cover the transition. It’s sure to be a good story!

PLEASE NOTE! For those of you who enjoy our “Spaghetti Western Wednesdays” where we serve a 4-course house-made pasta meal, along with the airing of a classic Western movie, this next Wednesday, October 16th is likely to be VERY FULL, with Hotel Impossible being here.

So, although we have allowed “walk-ins” for previous SWW nights, this coming Wednesday will be BY RESERVATION ONLY! Please call us at 209.286.1401 to reserve your spot. You can also check our website at http://www.hotelleger.com for a complete listing of the menu and movie to be shown (click on Whitewater Grill)
