.We’re sitting here wondering what these caves look like right now with all the water rushing down. We visited Natural Bridges (here pictured with our kiddo) over the Summer on one of the hottest, smokiest days in California. The trek down to this river & rock fortress is somewhat daunting, only in that..... once you are deep into this Earth’s crevice, you might make a silent prayer that nothing goes wrong because there’s zero reception and miles of nothing in between! 🕶 .

No matter the risk, however, this exploration is worth the steps put in. The caves are magical, the water is refreshingly cold, the seclusion is needed. Natural Bridges, Vallecito, Calaveras County. ✅.

Originally, we had passed through this town for work a few times and admired the quaint, isolation it all was- 2 streets and some partial country roads along with a building or two left over from the #GoldRush era plus the Church. We had no idea what was tucked much deeper into the foothills surrounding Vallecito. 🌳 .

But, having lived smack dab on #Highway49 for a few years we kept hearing of these lucious green, cool breeze caves with chilled water flowing, ones that didn’t reflect the dry, arid and parched hills visible to the passerby’rs. We mention this oasis, and other nearby caverns earlier in our feed, or see them on our ##highway49roadtrippin hashtag 😊🌳 .

New Month, New Cup! ☕️🎄❤️ I cant believe it’s been a month since I posted last! If you’ve been following my stories, you may have seen I’ve was in the hospital 🏥 for a week and had surgery on Thanksgiving followed by an unexpected ER trip that same night! Not exactly the Thanksgiving we were hoping for, as we had to cancel our magical Lake Tahoe vacation.
