As a restaurant in one of only two continuously-operating hotels in Calaveras County since the Gold Rush, the Murphys Historic Hotel Restaurant is a constant draw and local meeting place. This really is the heart and soul of downtown Murphys, and owners Brian, Joel and Kevin work hard to keep it that way. Friendly staff, fun and entertaining events and community spirit enhance the Murphys Historic Hotel experience. Be sure to stop in at the beautifully maintained, authentic Gold Rush saloon or enjoy a cocktail at their rustic outdoor bar in the summer.
Murphys Historic Hotel Restaurant serves an award-winning prime rib, rack of lamb, filet mignon and their famous fried chicken. Brunches are delicious and dinners are tasty and carefully prepared. The main dining room seats 32 and is a favorite dinner spot for locals and out-of-town guests. Just off the main room is the Gold Room which seats up to 50 and is frequently requested for social events, luncheons, festive occasions, family gatherings and meetings.
Voted “Best Overall Restaurant” by locals. Reservations are recommended for weekends and for groups of 8 or more.
