Renner Wines got its start when Doctor Ian Renner found his perfect vineyard paradise nestled in a valley in the beautiful Sierra Foothills near New Melones Lake, With rolling hills surrounded by Lake Melones, this valley reminded him of New Zealand and so, he named it “Canterbury.” With its warm long days and cool nights the magnificent landscape provided the perfect place to create the world class wines Ian dreamed of making.
Red varietals include Syrah, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon. They also produce a crisp white: Sauvignon Blanc.
Renner Wines’ tasting room in charming, downtown Murphys also offers traditional and flavor-infused olive oils made from Manzilla olives grown on the property and their own label, aged and infused 18-year-old balsamic vinegars.
A cottage is available to rent overlooking gorgeous views of the Canterbury Vineyard. Check their website for details.
