National Geographic Adventure has selected OARS as “The Best River & Sea Outfitter on Earth” for consecutive years based on education, sustainability, quality of service, and spirit of adventure. You’ll appreciate their outstanding professionalism on any one of their multiple adventures.

OARS (which stands for Outdoor Adventure River Specialists) now offers river rafting trips throughout the world in some of the most scenic places on earth. But they got their start right here in Calaveras County on the Stanislaus River. Their high quality experiences are created with sustainability in mind, keeping these beautiful environments in great shape for people to enjoy year after year. Class IV rapids on the north fork of the Stan will have you paddling hard through granite gorges, meadows and giant sequoias – the trip ends at Calaveras Big Trees State Park. With a short season of April – June, this is a treat not to be missed in available years. Available to ages 14 and up, 16 and up in high water years.

OARS runs multiple other exciting and beautiful whitewater rafting trips available for a longer season in Gold Country, close to Calaveras County, including on the South, Middle and North Fork of the American, Tuolumne, and Merced Rivers  Call today to raft with the most experienced rafting outfitter in North America and check out their website for some inspiring blogs, photos and videos.
