At Four Winds their end goal is for you to have a brilliant time. To enjoy each wine as much as they do making them, to have a chat and a laugh with the staff, and to meet new friends along the way. Their new tasting room located on Main Street Murphys was designed with that in mind, and to highlight the winemaking journey from grape to bottle.
Throughout the wine industry and their devoted following, Four Winds in known for quality, consistency and commitment. It is their hope that the last few sips of a Four Winds wine will be as enticing as the first taste. To this end, all of their efforts are designed with one goal in mind, to create extraordinary wines that their customers love to drink. It can be technically difficult, sometimes tiring, and occasionally costly, but by putting quality above all else the end result are wines that are structured, elegant and compelling.
John Gibson, Winemaker
For nearly two decades John Gibson has created some of the most exciting and innovative wines this region has seen. A veteran winemaker with over thirty years experience in the Napa Valley, including twelve years at the renowned Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, John has combined his skillful use of Calaveras fruit with his own Napa style to produce wines which have earned widespread acclaim throughout the country. As both owner and winemaker of Four Winds Cellars, John is a passionate advocate for the local wine industry and the premier destination it has become.
