Historic Murphys celebrates “Dia de Los Muertos” or “Day of the Dead”. The Town of Murphys comes to life with marigolds and vibrant colors as we celebrate the lives of people who have passed and are with us in heart and spirit.
Dia de los Muertos activities to enjoy in Murphys Park include Folk Art Mercado, Sugar Skull face painting, Ballet Folklorico, a Catrin & Catrina contest, Aztec dancers, and the final blessing of the community altar from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. In addition, you can explore the Walking Tour of Ofrendas on Historic Main Street.
The Día de los Muertos celebration is a deeply cherished tradition that allows us to honor the loved ones who have passed and to keep their memories alive in our hearts. A lovingly crafted Ofrenda will be displayed in Murphys Park, and we welcome each of you to visit, reflect, and remember together.
