The Cottages at La Honda Park (or, the “Compound”, as we like to call it) make for an outstanding gathering space, family reunion, or corporate retreat location. The Compound’s unparalleled six acre idyllic setting with Angels Creek at its epicenter allows you to immerse yourself in an incredibly private natural environment while staying in the five cottages and main house.

Beautifully  maintained and decorated in an upscale country style, the Compound features Parachute linens and towels, L’Occitane bath products and premium local coffee with Nespresso machines in each cottage. The property has two full kitchens and each cottage includes a useful kitchenette and quaint propane fireplace. A highlight of the property is a charmingly rustic, fully restored, barn which serves as a game room and bar with a Sonos sound system, pool table, darts, poker, foosball, assorted games and a huge flat screen smart television, all opening to a deck overlooking Angels Creek.

The beautiful location is shaded by centuries-old oak trees, which allows for relaxing by the weir, playing in the creek, reading in a hammock or enjoying the seasonally heated in-ground  swimming pool, even on the hottest summer days. We provide guests with opportunities for leisurely or competitive games of bocce ball, horse shoes, Can Jam, corn hole, pop-a-shot, tetherball and many others, depending on your party’s dynamic. The secluded location allows your group to have near-complete privacy while also being conveniently located right off Murphys Grade Road, just under two miles from historic and charming downtown Murphys.

During peak season (April through October) you can rent the entire park and cottages for up to 27 people. During the beautiful and quiet off-season we offer the park in two portions, with shared use of the barn and exterior spaces. The Compound is also available for corporate retreats and for very limited size special events. Check our website for details or to contact the Guest Services  manager.

Welcome House North

Sleeps up to four (with a queen and two, twin, trundles), and is the right side of a duplex-style cottage, decorated in country red florals and rustic wood. It features a step-in shower, gas fireplace and kitchenette, and is directly next to the property’s arbor picnic and game area. The oversized porch holds two extended pew style bench seats to accommodate the whole group.

Welcome House South

A mirror of Welcome House North. It is on the left side of the duplex cottage and is the first cottage you encounter upon arrival at La Honda Park. Similar in style to the North cottage, South is decorated in neutral tones and rustic wood with country red accents. It is equipped with a spacious walk-in shower, a gas fireplace and kitchenette, with the same pew benches outside as WH North.

Grandma’s Cottage

A sweet and quaint cottage with a vintage feel. This is a great place to curl up in a comfy chair and read a favorite book, or to while away a summer day on the porch swing. Grandma’s is furnished with a queen-size bed, classic wainscoting, an easy-to-operate gas fireplace, kitchenette, and of course, a lovely claw-footed tub in the powder room. If you’re looking for old-time comfort, this is the cottage for you.

The Pool House

The interior décor has a cool, soothing blue and white palette, a gas fireplace and a modern walk-in shower. The Pool House sits back a bit and the private porch overlooks the lush lawn of the main house. In close proximity is a delightful arbored picnic area — perfect for an afternoon meet up with your companions.

Ripplewood Cottage

This cottage faces beautiful Angels Creek, so you can see and hear the gentle babbling of the water as you sit on the wraparound porch. Featuring a king size bed, this is our more private cottage, although still in close proximity to all the property amenities. Decorated in cheery blue and yellow, Ripplewood is a soothing place to rest and rejuvenate. Ripplewood is cool and airy in the summer, yet warm and cozy in the winter. In the cooler seasons, enjoy the easy-to-operate gas fireplace while you soak in the sounds of nature.

The Main House

Sleeps ten to twelve, and has a few extra perks that make it perfect for a couple of families. A huge gathering room, full kitchen, three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms ensure plenty of breathing room and space for all. The master suite has a king bed and private bath ensuite. The second bedroom has a queen bed and is directly adjacent to a half bath. The third bedroom has a double bed with 2 trundles (4 singles), and is next to the second full bath. The great room’s fireplace makes it a nice place to listen to music, play games and simply relax after a long day of winter play. On hot summer evenings, the spacious creek side porch is a delightful place for a group meal or happy hour festivities. The main house provides plenty of spaces to find a quiet niche, like the sun porch hallway, where you can read a book while enjoying a beautiful view of the creek running by.
