WHAT: With a playground for little ones, shaded picnic benches, and a bustling artisan scene, the Angels Camp Farmers Market near historic downtown Angels Camp is the place to be Fridays at 5pm. Set in the well-shaded and lush Utica Park, the Angels Camp Farmers Market features live music and a different highlighted winery attending each week. 2. CalaverasGROWN Certified Farmers Market
WHEN: The 2nd Thursday of each month, from 4pm to 6pm, May 2019 through September 2019.
WHERE: San Andreas in the UCCE Master Gardeners Demo Garden at 891 Mountain Ranch Road.
WHAT: One of the things that sets this certified farmers market apart (in addition to all of the classic farmers market fixings) is the free children’s activities, gorgeous educational garden setting, and abundance of plants for sale. This community market may be off the beaten path, but the resilient spirit and talent of this rural community makes this hidden market well worth the drive.

5. Outer Aisle Thriving Thursdays

WHERE: Less than 5 minutes west of downtown Murphys, Outer Aisle Farm Stand at 164 Highway 4, Murphys CA
WHAT: An upscale certified farm stand, caterer and bi-weekly event venue, Outer Aisle is a great place to build community. Offering locally grown produce every other Thursday from noon to 7pm, as well as food, wine, beer, family friendly activities, and an open mic from 5pm to 8pm the same day. Within walking distance of the location where most of the food is grown, this year-round indoor local produce market and catering outfit is not only a local treasure but a slice of Calaveras foodie history. Farmers Christine and Eric Taylor pioneered organic farming in Calaveras County in the early 90s seeding certified farmers markets throughout the county and educating aspiring gardeners. At the height of their growing season, the Taylors are well known for having more variety on their small, two-acre farm than can be found at the average farmers market. Make sure to check in regularly for a chance to stock up on Eric’s legendary Vogliotti heirloom tomatoes and onions which have been grown in Calaveras County for over 100 years.
