Stay in Mokelumne Hill

Stay in Mokelumne Hill at the historic Hotel Léger, in continuous operation since the 1800s. Inside, you’ll find their fabulous restaurant and saloon, lots of Victorian style rooms and amazing hospitality. This is one of our favorite spots in the county. You’ll find the town charming, and the hotel is at its heart.

Here’s where locals hang out on cocktail nights and shoot the breeze, attend multiple special events year-round and bring their visiting family and friends for inspired cuisine. And here’s your opportunity to mingle with the friendly, welcoming, arty group that makes up the Moke Hill folks.

And if you’re lucky, you might have a supernatural encounter, as the hotel is famous for its ghostly activity. So much so, that the front desk will loan you a ghost hunting kit to go explore for yourself. You’ll definitely want to check out the cellar room on the lowest level of the hotel.

Outside is a shady pool and patio area, which is where they hold their Saturday Backyard Blues & BBQ events in the summer, with cocktails, wine and beer. There may only be one lodging option in Mokelumne Hill, but it’s charming, and we think you’ll love it.

You can learn more about the Hotel Léger’s history on our Mokelumne Hill history page.
