Thirty years ago, two public tennis courts were built behind the old Murphy Historic School House. In fall 2010, the Murphys Area Community Tennis Association was formed from local citizens to repair and maintain the two courts in Murphys and to support tennis along the Highway 4 corridor. Now available for public play (including evening tennis), adult and youth clinics, free periodic instruction to elementary and middle school students, and local tournaments. The courts are a beautiful asset for recreational tennis players of all ages, locals and visitors alike.
