1. The Lumberjack Day Setting: West Point, CA!

Playing in West Point is like having your own secret mountain getaway filled with awesome, warm, and friendly creative locals in a quaint mountain town setting a stones throw from the Bay Area. But please, don’t tell ALL of your friends about this hidden gem in the Sierras, it’s too cute to share.

2. Classic Lumberjack Day Competitions and Events

Chock full of local color and humor, events from the annual West Point Lumberjack Day parade, to the soap box derby (with contestants from all over Northern California), The Lawn Chair Brigade (performing now for over a decade) are not to be missed. However,it is the highlight lumberjack competitions of the festival (with big timbers, an axe throwing contest, Jack and Jill bucking, and chainsaw contests) that will really put some hair on your chest. 

Kid Zone: Unlike most festivals, the West Point Lumberjack Day goes all out with a supervised children’s play area. This awesome family friendly ups the fun with a supervised kid zone featuring bounce houses, climbing walls, a live Wild West Gunfighter show and a free petting zoo.
Food: Take your Lumberjack Day festivities to the next level this year with firehouse BBQ sandwiches, classic festival food, draft beer, wine, and fresh margaritas.
Don’t Miss: Don’t miss out on the arts and crafts booths, dunk tank, classic cars and numerous raffles.

You know it, I know it–we’re all looking for any and every opportunity to wear those Lumberjack Day flannels year round. No West Point event would be complete without a shout out to the warm-hearted locals that make each year’s festivities happen. And while the humans are busy making sure each Lumberjack Day activity goes off without a hitch, the four-legged locals take West Point life from epically charming to epically adorable. Come on folks, we’re talkin’ BABY. GOATS. here.
